Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Alevtina Kakhidze began creating a cartoon diary. With the influx of horrific information about bombings and casualties that are hard to ignore, she documents in it the monstrosity of war in its everyday aspects. The issue of oil and gas and energy blackmail features in many of the drawings. The artist refers to her own experiences and explores the question of Russian imperialism. At the Museum of Modern Art, as part of the Solidarity House of Culture's 'Sunflower' programme, she hosted an Honest Conversation about Russia, the topic of which was violence.
